Crochet Collector Costume Vol. 54 - Princess Diana 1985 Beaded Gala Gown
Princess Diana made a bold change from her usual frills and bows with her first sleek columnar dress by Hachi in 1985. Although Diana loved this dress, it is the only one made for her by this London designer. Diana included it in her Christie's Auction collection where it sold for $75,100.00.

This trend setting gown featured one bare shoulder and arm - a style she repeated several times over the years. Diana wore this spectacular gown to dinner at the National Gallery in Washington, D.C. in 1985 and on a State Visit to Japan. The dress was also worn on several other occasions including film premieres and is considered one of her favorites.

Pattern includes gown, shoes, purse and tiara for 11-1/2" fashion dolls.
