If you enjoy knitting lace, you can now discover the satisfaction of creating accessories for your home. This book illustrates the full potential of knitted textiles and the delicate beauty of white cotton knitting. The collection of one hundred patterns includes easy-to-follow patterns for soft furnishings and gift ideas of all kinds, to suite traditional, and modern decors. Knitting novices will find items that they can tackle with ease, whilst knitting experts will be able to exercise their abilities with the larger, more complex pieces.

Lace knitting is a creative craft. It is easy to learn, and needs the minimum of equipment: two basic stitches--knit and purl, a set a needles, and a ball of cotton. The patterns in this book have been collected form many sources, some of which date back to the mid 19th century, and have been used to create interesting items for the home.

How you use the designs depends on you. Experiment with the patterns; interchange types of thread, and needles. A pattern knitted with 100 cotton on extremely fine needles, take on a different appearance if worked with 4-ply cotton, and a thicker needle. By changing the application of designs, you will add your personal touch, and provide your family with an heirloom of your creation.
